THE BOOK

Hello. My name is Alan Lawrenson and I'm the author of the book featured on this page: "AUSTRALIA'S LOOMING ENERGY CRISIS" which is my fourth major non-fiction title written and self-published in 8 years. The three previous books, all focussed on prostate cancer, and all were international bestsellers. '

Australia's Looming Energy Crisis' in Jan 25, underwent a major update. The book came about as a result of a challenge presented to me on 20 February 2023. A month earlier, I was one of the 152 people or organisations that made a submission to the important Australian Senate Inquiry into lifting the Nuclear Ban. My submission was reviewed by probably Australia’s top mining research analyst, who knowing my background in technology, said: “I think you can write a best-selling book on Australia’s emerging energy crisis.” Thus, the book project started three days later and culminated in the successful launch of the 493-page book at the Sydney Mining Club on 7 December 2023. (An updated version was released by Amazon and the author in January 2025).

The sub-title of the book being ‘Can We Keep the Lights On?’ explains the mantra of the book.
